Dear Devs:You have in your hands a very rare thing: a superhero game where you get to design your own superhero character and in a major IP lore nonetheless. My question and request is: where is the evolution of these superheroes we create. Yes, new cosmetics, base items and stats are available regularly, but what about the rest? Our bases size and shape don't evolve as our characters do, our characters' powers once you reach level 30 don't evolve as our characters do, our characters' stories never evolve (arguably) past getting off the brainiac ship. The only thing that seems to evolve is the one thing that players can find in every other game(arguably done much better in some amd/or many) ie not the one major thing that sets this game apart from all the other games out there: it's combat system and missions and even then, not much beyond stat increases, and fixes for balance errors of the past. I feel you're missing huge opportunities to capitalize on the one thing that sets this game apart as a standalone game that offers something no other game offers. Thanks,A retired player who would like to enjoy the game again. Just have to wait it out and see. I think the original post is pretty naive. The game is here not to fulfil anyone’s superhero fantasies, it’s here to make money. Also, the kind of immersion the OP is seeking with character development isn’t something that anybody I know is interested in from the game. TheLorax said:“ Well we do know they have new things planned. Just have to wait it out and see. ”To be honest like what though?

They're PS3 to PS4 transition, was my chance to see what the game could do with the limitations taking off. We got better looking models. Better load times, and less freezing. Which is why I'm honestly a bit skeptical, we're about to go from PS4 to PS5 in the PS4 hasn't even pushed its limits for this game, I can understand the PS3 to PS4 argument about limitations. But once the PS4 came out those limitations stop being a limiting factor, and what changed once we got the PS4? New models. What else?I'm not very excited about the PS5 because the PS4 hasn't even been tapped into fully, we are moving on to more powerful hardware that we haven't even harnessed the full capabilities with the current generation. The PS3 to PS4 turned out to be just 'business as usual'So exactly what am I getting excited about for the PS4 to PS5 transition?

”The PS4 has been pushed to its limits with 30fps and checkerboard 4k. Hopefully with PS5 every game will be 1080p 60fps across the board with optional 4k 30fps and 1440p 60fps settings. Out the gate the PS4 wasn't as strong as it could have been so i'm excited for next gen (not talking about DCUO).

” I mean specifically DC universes case, it's kind of a question of what exactly am I getting excited for? Yes it's better hardware but what can the game utilize with said hardware.like I could understand the bump up from PS3 to PS4 after experiencing wavedox first-hand.

But bumping up from PS4 to PS5 I don't really see a benefit of upgrading since the PS4 hasnt really been tapped into. Balton hero said:“ Ok.wow, that was a pretty ignorant response. Ignoring the uncalled for insult at the beginning: First, you say the game is not here to fulfill superhero fantasies and is only here to make money as if the two things are mutually incompatible. Second: only someone who's brain dead can't see that fulfilling your superhero fantasies is exactly what the game is(see, I can throw out petty insults too); it gives you the option of creating your own custom hero or villain to interact with DC lore, complete with lair, sidekick, power customization and more.

OF COURSE THATS WHAT THE GAME IS ABOUT.Next is your assertion that nobody you know wants that etc. Well, the responses already in this thread as well as the other types of threads regularly made clearly show otherwise and that's just among the small part of player population who frequent the forums. How's this for naivete(and I'll throw in a side if selfishness for free): your belief that the instanced content and 'gameplay' whatever that means should be the only thing Devs work on just because it's what you like about the game. ”It's not unusual for people to only see the game the way they play it, and discount or dismiss other ways of playing as irrelevant or 'niche' variants.

This is why additions and changes to the game are not universally popular - they aren't supposed to be. They are intended to appeal to a section of the player base, and the next thing appeals to a different section. You can't make everybody happy all the time. But you can please one of the numerous sections of the player base immensely. There's nothing wrong with your requests. Flavour is always important in a game. Otherwise we might as well just have an endless stream of monochromatic Quicktime Events?

Tell me and I can say we got new models and materials.

But absolutely no new emotes, no new stances, no New movement styles, no New movements. And yet at the same time I can't entirely blame the Dev team, I re-linked Superiormouses thread about New movement styles and it garnered no interest. Quite popular in 2013 not popular at all in 2020. While complaining about DCUO is boring and stale.Sitting there on page 2 quietly atm. In terms of upgrades specific to DCUO.there are none lol. There's nothing to be excited for and you're better off putting your hopes and expectations into the new MMO they are working on.

There are no features or upgrades that DCUO is lacking due to lack of hardware strength that next gen could fix. Well it has set pieces where you can sit back and enjoy the end game cutscene in watch your characters do cool things, I mean I would like that but then again the community really isn't interested in immersion.

More so just anything that gets them a better set of gear or feats. The solowing said:“ I mean I like what they're doing with the cutscenes, I like more set pieces like that with more action and something akin to the Justice league show.

They make em a bit more immersive than just seeing the Justice League mentors for that episode flapping their gums while we presumably do nothing in the background. That kinda funny buttbump one of the random toon in your group does to the Metal Construct in Damage Control is my favorite part in this episode. I hope the devs continue to add more cutscenes like that in future episodes. Daybreak is playing in someone else's sandbox. So they have to follow their rules. And I highly doubt that inventing new lore is allowed by DC/WB where their named characters or locations are involved. And given how DC Comics universe works, that would require the developers to find a way of making the Guardians Of The Universe look even worse.
