Medieval Conquests Warband

My main quarrel with Medieval Conquests is that it seems to just be AD 1257 with a bunch of extra open source projects slapped on top of it - not even implemented properly. It feels buggy and unfinished. Medieval Conquests is really just being 'developed' by one person, and the list of new features just seem to be a bunch of features that come with the projects he implemented. Nothing wrong with using OSPs - the idea of having them is to use them for other mods - but when it's really just about all he's done, it's kind of cheap. The crazy things people talk about; lords dying, civil wars, being able to start as a king, and all that, all come with the KAOS Kit here.I don't like to speak ill of mods, as they take time to make, but this one particular mod just seems cheap.Edit: 42 factions as well. I haven't played pop yet but I've played 1257 a fair amount.

Medieval Conquests/1257AD on the other hand are beautiful when it comes to graphics and the map stretches all the way to Jerusalem, but there simply isn't enough stuff to do. There are more factions, but those factions have much less fiefs than in Europe 1200. As I said, I'd go with Europe 1200.

The only complaint I have about 1257 is the axes do piercing damage. You can change this with an editing tool, if you care as much as I do.Other then that it seems really solid. The Lance recruitment system is awesome. And the historical accuracy of the troop equipment is the best, period. It takes place in a time period where armor is winning the arms race against weapons. Armor is expensive and effective. A great helm has 90 armor while a top end long sword does 45c 30p.

So a Lord in full mail is a force to be reckoned with.There's tons of qol features as well.
