BDO Pets are little companions that automatically follow your character around and loot corpses for you. You don’t lift a finger! Of course, with anything Black Desert Online, that doesn’t mean BDO Pets are simple or boring. The Pet system is filled with wonderful complexity. You may even find their high expense worth it, as you encounter their cute munchkin faces and watch their moody antics!IMHO pets are necessary in order to enjoy the game.

They do more than just pick up loot.BDO Pet Notes:. Pet Food: gain max pet level 10 by feeding your darlings Pet Food. Pet Exchange: up to 4 Tiers obtained via Pet Exchange (AKA Pet Breeding). Pet Buffs: A long list of passive buffs that help you with Life Skills, Knowledge, and Combat. Loot Speed: pets start at 10 seconds and loot up to every 2.5 seconds for highest Tier and Level ( Tier 4 + Level 10)You can have up to 5 pets out at the same time.
Pets are bought at the Pearl Shop. A limited amount of can be obtained via Quest/Attendance/Challenge Rewards. Pets pick up your loot for you and give you added buffs. The higher your pet’s Tier and Level, the faster it will loot and the more buffs it will give. Pets gain Tiers from Pet Exchange (aka Pet Breeding). Pets gain Levels after being fed with Pet Food.
To level pets faster, switch them to Agile mode, which makes their Hunger level decrease faster. If your pet’s Hunger Level reaches 0%, it will no longer loot or use its Special Ability. It’s Talent and Skills, however, will still work, as long as the Pet is out of the Stable.Pet FoodPet Food enables your pet to keep looting for you. A full pet will continue to Loot and use their Special Ability. However, hungry pets at 0% Hunger Level will only give you Talents and Skills and will stop looting and using their Special Ability.Cheap Feed is the easiest to obtain because it’s readily available at every for 3,000 silver.
Unfortunately, it only restores 12 Hunger and is heavy to carry. Better pet food that restores much more Hunger, can be cooked or bought at the Marketplace. Pet FoodRecovers. BDO Pet Food at the Marketplace:Pet Skills, Talents, and Special Abilities (Basic)Passive pet buffs have 3 different categories:.
Pet Skills: Each pet can have up to 3 Pet Skills depending upon Level and Tier. Tier 1: 1 Pet Skill at Level 10. Tier 2: 1 Pet Skill. Tier 3: 2 Pet Skills. Tier 4: 3 Pet Skills. Pet Talents: Each pet has 1 Talent.
Pet Special: Each pet has 1 Special Ability.Tier 1 pets come with a Talent and a Special Ability but don’t receive a Skill until they mature to level 10. Skills are randomly given. Skills and Talents from more than one pet will stack. If you have two pets, both with Combat Experience +5%, your total bonus to Combat Experience will be +10%. When your pet’s hunger gauge reaches zero, it will no longer use its Special Ability or loot. Its Skills and Talents will still work however.
Skills and special abilities do not improve or increase with higher levels or Tiers like Talents do. The best pet in BDO is determined by how you like to play. The Hedgehog pet is very powerful for people who like the Life Skill of Gathering and want to progress into other Life Skills. The Hedgehog has a chance to gather twice for the same amount of Energy. Desert Resistance is a great Talent if you enjoy hunting in the Great Desert of Valencia.
(There are many great hunting areas there.) Polar Bears increase your weight limit by up to +50LT. It’s a pricey way to purchase additional weight, but may come in handy for a character that already has the maximum weight purchased.Keep in mind, some pets have limited availability, so you will need patience if you want a seasonal or holiday pet. Rare Critter Box Example (from January 16th 2019 to January 30)2,200 PearlsObtain 1 of the following: Hedgehog (Tier 4), Hedgehog (Tier 3), Hedgehog (Tier 2), or Snowflake Reindeer Box (Snowflake Reindeer x2)Wizard Ghosphy is a very unique pet. He cannot be Exchanged to increase his Tier and always stays at Tier 1. However, this Wizard will increase the chances of getting a higher Tier pet more than other Tier 1 pets. (giving 20% instead of 15%) Ghosphy can be exchanged with any pet, even Limited pets.
Gosphy might be useful, depending upon how much he costs. (Last cost was 1650 Pearls not cheap by any stretch, but Wizard Gosphy is cheaper than buying a Pet Bundle to get another Limited pet, for example. For details on how Gosphy Exchanges with other pets and the costs, please see details in the Exchange section.)Wizard Gosphy Comparison:Normal Exchange: (T3main) + T3 + T2 + T2 + T1 = 35% + 25% + 25% + 15% = 100% T4 pet exchange chanceWizard Exchange: (T3main) + T3 + T2 + Wiz + Wiz = 100% T4 pet exchange chanceGosphy allows you to use one less T2 pet in Exchange. (Which means it’s not cheaper, when compared to Premium pet exchanges, but would be cheaper in some Limited pet exchanges.
See T4 Exchange section below.). Wizard Ghosphy1,650 PearlsBest Pet Special AbilityThe Special Ability that I find the most useful is Gathering Amount Increase from Hedgehog and Auto Fishing Time Reduced.Gathering Amount Increase: Only available from the Hedgehog pets.Item Collection Increase: Arctic Fox (Limited time pet) 1% up to 4%.Auto-fishing Time Reduced: Pets like Marmot and Otter are Premium and available all the time, costing 1100 Pearls. (Also in Limited pets: Penguin and Polar Bear.).Finds Resources: Alerts to 1 gatherable resource every few seconds like herbs, trees, etc. I haven’t found this very useful.
After a while you get to know what they look like. Detection also feels slow.Hostility Detection: Alerts to hostile guild and PVP flagged players in range.Finds Rare Monsters: Alerts to nearby elite mobs.Taunt Monster: Your pet will run out and draw 1 monster to you. I don’t see this as being very useful and can actually mess up the timing on your pulls.Desert Disease Resistance: Reduces the chance that you will gain one of the Valencia Desert DoT debuffs. The resistance only goes up to 35%, so it will negate 1/3 of the DoTs. However, you will still need to carry water and tea anyway to cure the 65% that land on you while in the Great Desert.Best Pet TalentsPet Talents are very useful, especially the experience Talents.Reduced Durability Loss: This is a convenient Talent, so that you don’t have to stop as often to repair.
It even works on Life Skill tools like fishing poles and axes. Repair becomes less of an issue if you have the Naphart Camping Set. Knowledge Pets: Knowledge Increase 5-20%, and Higher-Grade Knowledge Increase 1-4%Chance to Gain Knowledge: Increases the frequency of Knowledge rolls when you kill etc.
You may gain a lower grade than the one you currently have, but lower grades will not lower your rank. Only higher ranks are applied.Chance to Gain Higher-grade Knowledge: Increases the chance that the Knowledge learned will be a higher rank/grade than the Knowledge you currently know.Knowledge pets are a good choice for beginners, but loose some of their usefulness after you have obtained all Knowledge.
They are useful for both grinding and Life Skills. Knowledge increases Max energy, which is required for Gathering and leveling up Nodes. Knowledge also gives buffs to mobs drops.
Knowledge does have a cap as long as no new Knowledge content is added.Experience Talents: Life Skill Experience Gain 1-4%, Combat Skill Experience Gain 1-4%. These are probably the most useful buffs to obtain. 4% doesn’t sound like much, but with 5 pets, you could increase your experience by 20%. Most cats give Life Skill buff and most dogs give Combat Skill Exp.Other Unique Talents: Weight Limit Increase 20-50 LT (Polar Bear), Hit Point Bonus 25-100 HP (Young Crimson Dragon), Gathering bonus (Hedgehog). Example Pets in Each TierTier 1 Level 10:1 Special Ability, 1 Skill, rank 1 TalentNOTE: the Tier 1 Level 9 pet does not have a Skill yet.
He will receive a random Skill at level 10.Tier 2 Level 10:1 Special Ability, 1 Skill, rank 2 TalentTier 3 Level 10:1 Special Ability, 2 Skills, rank 3 TalentTier 4 Level 10:1 Special Ability, 3 Skills, rank 4 TalentPet Skills ListSkill percentages do not increase by increasing Pet Level or Pet Tier. However, all pet buffs stack, when you have more than one pet out of the Stable. Pets have 3 Skills at Tier 4, 2 Skills at Tier 3, and 1 Skill at Tier 2. Have you?Notice all Life Skills are covered, except for Sailing. Um, poor Sailors!
How to Save Money on T4 Pets:. There is a 55% chance to obtain a T3 by Exchanging two Tier 1 pets. So if you are lucky, you can save some by mashing all your Tier 1 pets together and THEN try to put together T4 pets.
When buying Pearl Boxes with Kakao Cash in $100 bundles, the price of an 1100 Pearl pet is $9.56. Total cost for really bad luck during T4 Exchange, (using 11 pets to make 1 Tier 4) would be $105.23. You can also stick with the 900 Pearl pets, which are the basic cats and dogs. This would reduce your bad luck Exchange to $86.09.
Wait for pet sales (normally 20% off, very rarely up to 50% off). Stop at Tier 3, which gives 3 second loot speed. (Tier 4 only gives 0.5 extra loot speed)Tier 4 Pet Breeding Best Combinations – In-depth AnalysisThank you to, who made the following detailed Tier 4 Pet Exchange Analysis! View Aldodzb’s original. Hi, I have been doing some comparisions between all posibles breeds combinations for tomorrow’s patch to get the full t4 roaster and I would like to share and discuss.First, I would never risk even at 90-95%.
The slim chance of loosing a considerable ammount of money bothers me a lot.

The handcuffs could also be worn by children and came with a link so that the child could simulate breaking the chain. Dr Snyder, the scientist who originally discovered the statues and the legend behind them, wants to kidnap him for publicity purposes, while his sister helps her brother out of the crisis.
My Pet Monster also spawned a children's that ran for one season on, produced by (France), (Canada), and in association with Golden Books. The show follows Monster, who lives with a boy named Max. When Monster wears his handcuffs, they turn him into a stuffed animal. Max often does to keep Monster's existence secret from others.
Max's sister, Jill, and his friend Chuckie, are the only ones that know this secret. The two main adversaries in the show are Mr. Hinkle, a neighbor who always thinks Max is up to something, but is not quite sure what; and Beastur, a large monster who hates light and tries to bring Monster back to MonsterLand. Beastur, though immense and fierce, is incompetent. He can be stopped by the magic cuffs -— which reduce him to a smaller, though still 'alive' monster -— or by his own bungling, and sent back through the warp portal to his own world.
He wears dark to protect his sensitive eyes, which he can use to see in the dark.Beastur appears in nearly every episode as either a primary or secondary foe. On one notable occasion, he was scared back through the portal to Monsterland not by light or the cuffs, but by the affections of a smitten female.
In the final episode, it is also shown that Beastur hates to be hugged, even more so than being exposed to light.Much of the voice cast of My Pet Monster returned 2 years later in 1989 for, another show with a surreal theme and a supernatural world populated by fantastic monsters.Reruns of all 13 half-hour episodes aired on in Canada from September 5, 2011. Though this might seem a distraction from the main purpose of the game, making up those combos is a cool reprieve from the drudgery of the single button press to execute your combo.Along with the attack combos you also have special 'Chi' attack moves.
