Influenced by low-budget horror films of the 1950s (and beyond), and by the shooting action of Robotron: 2084, Zombies Ate My Neighbors has one or two players (simultaneous) running around suburbia, using a squirt gun to blast mummies, pod plants, and other creepy creatures. Cheerleaders, tourists, and other innocents should be rescued, and footballs, bazookas, weed-eaters, and other weapons can be picked up for added firepower. Additional items include keys for opening doors and Monster Potion that turns your character into a purple beast capable of bashing through walls. Filled with tongue-in-cheek humor, fast-paced gameplay, tons of levels, and cartoonish graphics and sound effects, Zombies Ate My Neighbors breathes new life into your Super NES. The Hidden Gem of the SNESExcellent game! Been looking to get this game for quite some time, glad I've finally got it! It's a perfect couch co-op for the SNES if you're a lover of quirky B-Movie Horror flicks.
The game, while it can be tough in the later stages, it compels you to hit the start button to try again, you can use the password if you want but it resets your item stock so it's in your best interest to start fresh. Overall I recommend this game fully if you can find a reasonable deal on it, I love the game, but 60 bucks is a bit steep for a game like thisVerified purchase: Yes Condition: Pre-owned. Interesting conceptZombies Ate My Neighbors is kind of like a B-movie encapsulated in a video game. It has its frustrating moments but overall an excellent little game. You can play two player co-op. Your mission is to rescue your neighbors. You start out with ten but they can be killed and that leaves 1 less for the continuing rounds in the game.
So, it is wise to save as many as possible at the beginning. The enemies are varied, interesting and definitely B-movie inspired. There is a charm to those who grow up watching Ed Wood or similar directors and can enjoy the humor of these movies. Game play is simple but not without difficulties. You can scroll through your items in only one direction which can be frustrating if you skip over something you are in need of at that moment. Quite a few times h ave gone past health or rocket launcher when I need them.
There is also of course the length of the game 55 levels if you count all the bonus levels or 47 if you don't go through all. You also only get passwords every 4 levels and it doesn't store equipment so can be rough in the later stages. If you haven't tried, give it a go. An enjoyable game on the SNES or Genesis, just get ready to take some time to advance and watch out for zombies.
SNES ZombiesZombies Ate My N'bors has been a family favorite since the early 90s when we first jumped into the video games world. Even though my sons are grown now and we have evolved well past Super Nintendo, the machines are still in great shape. Because my sons remembered the good times we had playing together (2 controllers)and the creepy music from the game I looked for the game on ebay to purchase. 'Zombies' gives codes after each conquered level, keeps a scoreboard and is easy to operate without being boring despite the cartoony figures. I bought it for my son's 17th birthday as a surprise and he loves it! Worst 16-bit Game Ever MadeThis game is very bad.
It's one of the worst games I've ever played in my entire lifetime. I had more fun getting horrible upset stomachs, broken bones, and losing prized possessions than playing this horrible garbage. I don't care how many people.love. this game; It's a childhood nightmare that tortured me when I was younger. The graphics are nice, not remarkable but good nevertheless.

The sound and music is horrendous. Nails on a chalkboard never sounded better compared to the songs in the game.
The gameplay is incredibly repetitive. All you do is go around and rescue victims from getting killed. It's simple and sweet for 7 levels but after 12 it gets boring and stale, but it gets very much downhill from here, Especially since most of the levels are the same thing over and over again w hich contributes even more to the repetitiveness. The game is extremely difficulty but in a bad way, you will meet enemies that will hand your butt to you much easier than you can kill them, as well enemies that stall you, and bosses that are so incredibly broken, you will be asking why did they create it in the first place? The game has no continues and a very limited password system.
The game is 48 Levels long but the ending is not even worth all that suffering. Please do yourself an enormous favor and do not torture yourself playing this bad game. If you want games that will give a great challenge play the Contra or Donkey Kong Country series, their difficulty is more fair and rewarding, plus the music in those games are way better.
So are the endings, they will make you feel that you truly earned them. Avoid Zombies Ate My Neighbors because it is just torture in the form of a SNES cartridge,The reasons why I bought it: One to demonstrate to my friends how terrible it is and two to destroy the horrible nightmare of a video game that plagued my childhood.
