Bleeding hearts. I am a huge fan of The 7th Guest, and voted for it the second it showed up on the Greenlight list. This is the original DOS version running using ScummVM.
I have seen a few posts asking if it is the original, and several replies stating that it was, but none that actually indicated someone had purchased the Steam version. Well, I did purchase it, and it is.
I do not feel that it is a rip-off, and I have alrady purchased the GOG version of these games, as well as the copy of the The 7th Guest from the Apple Mac Store. Plus, I purchased the new Trylobytes versions on iOS. Not to mention, I purchased the originals and still have them on CD. I am eagerly waiting for The 7th Guest 3:-). Hoefer,Both the GOG and the Steam version are packaged with Windows executables, and will not run natively on a DOS machine. In theory, if you install it in Windows, and then copy the files to yoru DOS machine. The origianl version uses a batch file to launch the gamve, vices an executable.
You would need to copy all of the files to the hardrive, and run the 'setup' file to configure the graphics and audo settings. Your DOS box must have a supported sound card (Sound Blaster compatible) with the appopriate enviroment varialbes set for the game to find it. Good luck!Rich S.
