Personally, I never really like the first few prestiges of any games that include it except those that have automatic upgrade systems (the game automatically purchases/upgrades buildings for you whenever you recieve enough currency for said building/upgrade).

I'm not exactly sure what you mean for the first part, and as for the second part if I scan double a few times it does show my current crate amount, but if I change it it resets back to the original number. Also tried changeing the order feature price but can't seem to find its value at all. Also I don't have mastery points and he changed that system anyways, so I cannot check that out. The price of a features level though can be changed to 0 so that you can level that feature to the max without it costing you any crates besides the ones you spent to help you find its value.
Update: Never mind I just tried changing the price on a different feature than the one before it that worked and it no longer worked. I attempted it on the same save with no features purchased as before.

Simply told you no exact value will yield results except (maybe) for the cost of mastery upgrades (it should have been double type if I guessed correctly)

I recently discovered that Kongregate apparently has games with the Unity webplayer. I was wondering how viable it would be to publish my game on Kongregate. I understand that there is a 50/50 revenue split, but as I understand it, the audience is massive. In addition, does this prevent me from publishing/selling my game in a more traditional market, such as Steam? So my current, tentative plan is to release a version of the game on Kongregate but withhold certain content, available only on a paid copy via Steam, itch.io, etc. This seems like it could reach out to a large playerbase, get my game greenlit, and help against getting buried by all the submissions on Steam. For a developer without any real media resources, I wonder if this alone would be worth it, with the ad revenue being a nice bonus.I would love to hear some thoughts, especially from someone who's done well using Kongregate.

Hey everyone! I'm Anthony Pecorella and I run the Kongregate.com content (and also coincidentally happen to be a developer for Defender's Quest). First off, a warning: Firefox is killing NPAPI support (including Unity Webplayer) in mid-April. That's the last major browser supporting it, so Webplayer games will be effectively dead in about 2 months. We're recommending that new and existing Unity developers export to WebGL instead.

Pepsiman is often tasked with 'saving' people from situations such as burning buildings or crashed planes, yet all he can actually do is give them Pepsi cans. Yet there are Pepsi cans spread all over the place?. Speaking of the plot, if Pepsiman & the world is inside a can, then why did the TV Game Guy look inside the can if he drunk the can into his gullet & react like he tasted something odd, did this mean that the world this game takes place in an can or the tv in the ending credits?? There was no explanation for what just happened. The plot makes no sense; society is collapsing due to Pepsi vending machines being out of order. Pepsi man ps1.

We have no requirements or expectations of exclusivity on Kongregate. The revenue split you referenced is a bit more complicated. 25% is the default ad revenue split. You get +10% if you implement our API. You get +15% if you are exclusive to Kongregate.com (but only for web, you're still welcome to go to Steam, mobile, etc., just not other web platforms).

So it can get up to 50%, yes. I honestly would not recommend going with the exclusivity bonus. An extra 15% of ad revenue is nice, but is likely to be worth much less than getting your game out to as many web platforms as you can. Our audience is very good quality and a great size, but I don't want to categorize it as 'massive', especially compared to Steam when we're actually smaller (though definitely bigger than itch.io).

We have the ability to do in-app purchases on Kongregate, which is how Defender's Quest works (you can buy the full version directly on Kongregate). In-app purchase revenue share is 70% to the developer, if you decide to sell it on Kongregate too.Happy to answer any other questions!. Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions! There were a few other questions I submitted via email to Kongregate developer support, but I think having it here would help others who might be in a similar boat.1) Can I submit a game with theme/setting appropriate profanity, i.e. A soldier yelling words such as 'shit,' 'bastard,' 'Krauts,' 'Japs' in a WW2 combat zone? There's certainly a fine line for obscene content, but I think most people would agree something like Saving Private Ryan isn't obscene despite all the profanity in it.2) Am I allowed to submit a game with certain features restricted/locked, i.e.

Certain levels or game modes, for the purposes of differentiating it from a purchased copy? I was thinking of possibly having some upgrades be restricted via Kreds, but all restrictions would be lifted in the non-web copy.3) Is acceptable (and is it possible) to have a link in the game pointing to a Steam Greenlight voting page? For purposes of implementation, this would be a Unity WebGL item.4) Are games only eligible for developer contests once? If I submit now, I will only get one chance to compete for the monthly/weekly prize?5) How are badges implemented? I would assume it's somekind of APIi that the developer needs to implement, similar to the virtual goods API and statistics API, but the wording on the FAQ almost seems to imply Kongregate does it on a case by case basis.

Hey Snarkstopus! I believe one of our support staff already replied to your first 3 questions via email. I'll include them here in case anyone else is interested.1) Shit, bastard, and even asshole are okay in a game. We'd prefer to avoid racial slurs. If it's in a high-drama moment or something then sure, but if they're just tossed around casually that's not great.2) Yup, that's fine.

Email us and we can help figure out the best method for this.3) If you're selling the game on Kongregate we'd prefer not. If it's only a version that's intended to drive traffic then yes, feel free. Also, Steam Greenlight is going away soon.4) Yes, the contest is tied to the date that the game is first published live.5) There is indeed an API that allows a game to submit stats and scores to us that is required for badges.

However, you read correctly that badges are made by us. They are relatively rare (5 - 10 per month) and we reserve them for highly-rated games since many players will try to collect them all.
